Sven Jenssen

Sven Jenssen was a German Schlager singer born on April 21, 1934, in Kiel. He began his music career in the early 1960s, initially balancing it with other pursuits like engineering and mechanics. Jenssen gained recognition for his versatile voice and musical talents, which spanned genres from Schlager to Shanty. Notable collaborations include his duet with Peter Alexander on "Eine Lederhose braucht keine Bügelfalten" in 1963. He also participated in the Schlagerfestival in Sopot in 1965 and appeared in the TV series "Der Hase Cäsar." Jenssen's repertoire includes Shanties, and he performed at events like the Hamburger Hafenkonzert. His later work includes albums such as "Shanties mit Sven Jenssen" and contributions to Shanty music in Northern Germany.

Jenssen's career highlights also include appearances on popular TV shows like the "ZDF-Hitparade" and "Die Drehscheibe." He was known for his renditions of popular songs, including a German version of the "Love Story" theme. Jenssen passed away on December 14, 2022, leaving behind a legacy in German music, particularly in the Schlager and Shanty genres.
