Takeharu Ishimoto is a Japanese video game composer and musician who made a name for himself at Square Enix. He started out as a synthesizer programmer in 1999, working on games like Legend of Mana, before moving into composing in the early 2000s. Ishimoto is best known for his work on popular titles like The World Ends with You, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and the Dissidia Final Fantasy series. His music often blends rock, electronica, and pop influences. In late 2017, Ishimoto left Square Enix to pursue a career as a freelance composer.
