Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway

Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway is the musical project led by Daron Malakian, best known as the guitarist and co-vocalist of the Grammy-winning metal band System of a Down. Formed in the mid-2000s, the band showcases Malakian’s signature style—a powerful mix of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and socially charged lyrics. The self-titled debut album was released in 2008 and featured the hit single “They Say,” earning attention for its aggressive energy and political undertones.

After a hiatus, Malakian revived the project under the adjusted name “Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway” and released the 2018 album Dictator, for which he wrote, performed, and recorded all of the instruments himself. The project offers Malakian an outlet for creative experimentation that builds on his work with System of a Down while exploring new directions and themes in hard rock and alternative metal.
