Gustavo Guichón was an Argentine payador, a type of improvising poet and singer in the gaucho tradition. He was a regular performer at the Jesús María Festival, one of Argentina's most important folk music events, where he debuted in 1972 and became a fixture for over 30 years until 2010. Guichón was known for his skill in payada, a form of musical verse improvisation. He passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy in Argentine folk music.
