Reg Schwager

Reg Schwager is a Canadian jazz guitarist known for his subtle technique, sophisticated approach to harmony, and the lyrical quality of his playing. Born in Leiden, Netherlands, in 1962, Schwager moved to New Zealand with his family at a young age before settling in Canada. His journey with the guitar began when he was 6, and by his teenage years, he was already performing professionally.

Throughout his prolific career, Schwager has established himself as a mainstay in the jazz scenes of Toronto and beyond. He has played with a vast array of musicians and has been a first-call accompanist for many vocalists. Schwager is known for his versatility and ability to enrich any ensemble without overshadowing other members. Among his many projects, his recent releases such as "Nineteen," "Senza Resa," and "Late Night" showcase his continued passion for crafting immersive musical landscapes and exploring rich harmonic textures.
