Harvey Reid

Harvey Reid is a veteran American acoustic musician best known for his masterful fingerstyle guitar playing and deep dedication to traditional and roots music. A true independent artist, Reid has been trailblazing the DIY path since the early 1980s, releasing music on his own Woodpecker Records label and maintaining full creative control over his work. His sound blends folk, blues, bluegrass, and Celtic influences, and he's known for being an early adopter and advocate of the partial capo—a tool he’s written extensively about and showcased in recordings like his "Capo Voodoo" series.

In addition to his rich catalog of solo guitar music and songs, Reid is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, playing autoharp, mandolin, and dobro. He’s also an educator and author, having created instructional materials like "The Liberty Guitar Method" to share his deep knowledge of acoustic guitar technique.
