Michael Clifford

Michael Clifford is best known as the guitarist and vocalist of the Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS). Born on November 20, 1995, in Sydney, Australia, Michael grew up passionate about music, which sparked early on when his parents bought him the game Guitar Hero. He met his future bandmates during school and dropped out in year 10 to fully commit to the band. 5SOS started by posting cover videos on YouTube, caught major label attention, and went on to tour with One Direction before headlining their own shows. Michael is famous not only for his musical talent but also for his ever-changing vibrant hair colors.

Recently, Michael has been building his solo career, releasing his debut solo album *SIDEQUEST* in 2025, featuring tracks like "kill me for always" (with Porter Robinson) and "give me a break!" (with Waterparks). This album marks a fresh chapter for him as he explores new sounds and personal expression outside of 5SOS. Alongside his music, Michael’s personal life includes a marriage to model Crystal Leigh since January 2021, and they welcomed their daughter in 2023.
