ŠoMazgoon is a pioneering Croatian band known for their unique blend of "island rock," which combines elements of rock, reggae, folk, and world music. The band was formed by Žan Jakopač, who is also known for his work with other notable Croatian musicians. Jakopač's use of the dialect from Postira, a village on the island of Brač, has been a defining feature of ŠoMazgoon's sound, making them a key part of the "otočki val" (island wave) movement. The band's music often incorporates traditional Croatian elements with modern styles, creating a distinctive and lively sound.

Over the years, ŠoMazgoon has released several albums, including *ŠoMazgoon*, *Umriću Od Bonace*, *Velegradele*, and *No Name No Fame vs. ŠoMazgoon*. More recently, they have released new material, such as the album *Albun* and the single "Maške." The band's contributions to Croatian music have been recognized with awards, including a performance at the Melodije hrvatskog Jadrana festival and the Nagrada grada Visa Zlatnu plaketu. Despite a period of inactivity, ŠoMazgoon remains a beloved and influential figure in Croatian music.
