The Victims

The Victims were an Australian punk rock band formed in Perth in 1977. They are often cited as one of the first punk bands in Australia, bringing a raw and energetic sound to the scene. The band's original lineup included lead vocalist Dave Faulkner, who later found fame with the Hoodoo Gurus, along with guitarist Rudy Moralez, bassist James Baker, and drummer Ron Asher. Their debut single, "Television Addict," released in 1978, is considered a classic of Australian punk. Despite their short-lived career, The Victims left a lasting impact on the Australian music scene, and their music continues to be celebrated by punk enthusiasts.

Their most notable releases include the singles "Girls Don't Go For Punks" and "Victim," as well as the "Horror Smash" EP. The band's influence can be heard in the work of many subsequent Australian punk and rock bands, cementing their place in the country's musical history.
