Lillies and Remains

Lillies and Remains are a Japanese post-punk/coldwave band formed in 2007. Initially inspired by classic acts like Joy Division and Bauhaus, they quickly carved out their own sound, blending dark, driving rhythms with shimmering synths and ethereal vocals. Over the years, they've consistently released a steady stream of singles and albums, including several on the UK label Club AC30, gaining a dedicated following both in Japan and internationally. Their music often explores themes of alienation, introspection, and the search for meaning in a complex world.

While rooted in the post-punk tradition, Lillies and Remains aren't afraid to experiment and evolve. Their more recent work incorporates elements of shoegaze and electronic music, resulting in a sound that's both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
