Beasts Of Bourbon

Beasts of Bourbon emerged as a formidable force in the Australian alternative rock scene, their inception dating back to 1983 in Sydney. The band was originally formed as a side project by members of various Australian rock acts including The Scientists, Hoodoo Gurus, and The Johnnys. Blending the raw energies of punk, the swagger of blues, and the doomed romanticism of country, Beasts of Bourbon carved out a distinctive sound that resonated through the underground music scene and beyond.

Throughout their intermittently active career, Beasts of Bourbon underwent numerous lineup changes but always retained their gritty and darkly charismatic musical style. Albums such as "Little Animals" (2007) and "Gone" (1997) showcased their ability to evolve while staying true to their bluesy roots, with lyrics reflecting tales of vice, redemption, and the harsher edges of life. "From The Belly Of The Beast" (2005), a live recording, captured the raw power and intensity of their stage performances. "The Low Road" (1991) remained one of their most critically acclaimed works, embodying the band's penchant for hard-hitting rock riffs and bourbon-soaked storytelling. Despite the passing of key members, including frontman Tex Perkins' powerful voice and stage presence, the legacy of Beasts of Bourbon lingers on in the annals of Australian music history as troubadours of the underground, who lived and played by their own rules.
