Robert Casadesus (1899–1972) was a celebrated French pianist and composer, known for his elegant and precise interpretations of classical repertoire, particularly Mozart, Beethoven, and French composers like Ravel. Born into a musical family, he studied at the Paris Conservatoire and quickly established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation. His recordings, especially of Mozart’s piano concertos, remain highly regarded for their clarity and nuance. Casadesus also composed numerous works, including piano pieces, chamber music, and symphonic compositions. He often performed alongside his wife, pianist Gaby Casadesus, and collaborated with renowned violinist Zino Francescatti. His legacy lives on through his recordings and contributions to classical music.
