Windsbacher Knabenchor

The Windsbacher Knabenchor is an esteemed German boys' choir known for its pure and refined sound, highly esteemed in the world of classical choral music. Founded in 1946 by Hans Thamm in the town of Windsbach, Bavaria, the choir has since risen to international prominence. Its members are boys and young men from various parts of Germany who are educated at the choir’s own boarding school, where they receive a comprehensive musical and general education.

The choir's repertoire includes a broad spectrum of sacred music, with a particular emphasis on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, as evidenced in their recent recordings of Bach's "Weihnachtsoratorium, BWV 248" and other motets. Under the direction of Martin Lehmann, who succeeded Karl-Friedrich Beringer in 2012, the choir continues to maintain its high standard of excellence. Constantly on tour, the Windsbacher Knabenchor performs in concert halls and at festivals across the world, bringing its distinctive interpretations of choral music to a global audience. The ensemble is also known for its regular collaborations with leading orchestras and conductors, further enhancing its reputation as a premier boys' choir on the international stage.
