Stereo Hypnosis

Stereo Hypnosis is an Icelandic electronic music trio formed in 2006 by Pan Thorarensen and his father Óskar Thorarensen. The group later expanded to include composer and guitarist Thorkell Atlason in 2013. Known for their ambient-driven electronica, Stereo Hypnosis incorporates organic environmental sounds into their music, creating a serene and downtempo atmosphere. Their compositions often feature elements like birdsong and waves, blended with soft beats and gentle melodies. The trio has released several albums, including "Hvolf," which reflects Iceland's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Stereo Hypnosis has performed extensively and is associated with the Extreme Chill Festival, which Pan Thorarensen co-founded.

Some of their notable releases include "VÍK," "Hvolf," "Hvarf," "Bárur," "Bjarmi," and "Toqqissivoq." Their music is characterized by its cinematic and epic quality, often capturing the essence of Iceland's landscapes and myths. Stereo Hypnosis has collaborated with other artists, such as Christopher Chaplin, and has been praised for their live performances, which bring their ambient electronica to life on stage.
