Guro Kvifte Nesheim is a renowned Hardanger fiddle and Hardanger d'amore player and composer from Norway. Born in Oslo, she began playing the Hardanger fiddle at the age of seven and has since become deeply immersed in traditional and contemporary Nordic folk music. Her musical journey has been influenced by leading Hardanger masters, and she has been recognized for her skills in national competitions. Guro studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she developed a passion for playing in bands. She is the founder of the band GKN5, which blends traditional Hardanger fiddle tunes with modern arrangements.
Guro's recent collaborations include working with Floating Sofa Quartet on the album *Kystnært*, which explores the musical traditions of coastal Scandinavia. This project highlights her ability to merge traditional and contemporary elements, showcasing her versatility as a musician.
