Augustana

Augustana is an American rock band that first gained mainstream recognition with their hit "Boston" from their debut album, "All the Stars and Boulevards," released in 2005. The founding members included Dan Layus, who continues to be the driving creative force and frontman, and Jared Palomar, among others, who have seen a shifting lineup over the years. The band's sound is characterized by its introspective lyrics, piano-driven melodies, and a blend of alternative rock and heartland rock influences.

Over the years, Augustana's music has evolved, maintaining a loyal fan base through their emotive storytelling and melodic prowess. Albums such as "Can't Love, Can't Hurt" in 2008 and "Augustana" in 2011 solidified their presence in the music scene, with tracks that balance between vulnerability and anthemic strength. More recently, their discography has expanded to include "Something Beautiful," "Stand On My Own," "Echo," a rarities collection titled "Yourself Yesterday: A Rarities Collection," and an introspective set of solo piano works in "Everyday an Eternity: Solo Piano Works." The live energy of the band is captured in "Live (Recorded from a Livestream Event)," and their ongoing creative output includes singles like "Make Someone Happy," "Take," and "Okay // Lies." Despite the changes in lineup and the ever-evolving music industry, Augustana has remained a consistent presence, known for their heartfelt performances and Layus's evocative songwriting.
