Eminencia Clasica is a Cuban music group that emerged in 2002 from Cienfuegos, blending reggaeton and rap with influences from hip hop culture such as breakdancing, while also experimenting with both Cuban and international classical music genres. The group aims to create quality works that contribute artistically and culturally to the Cuban hip hop movement. After a period of inactivity, they made a comeback around 2010 with a mixtape called "Metro 88" and have been known for tracks like "Eminencia," "Te Extrano (My Baby)" featuring Nardavid, and "Vengo Manda'o." Their work is notable for its fusion of styles and their contributions to musical education projects in Cuba, like the EDARTE initiative, which promotes knowledge through art.
The band has also been involved in collaborations with prominent Cuban artists, including participation in Paulo FG’s CD "Un poquito de to’," and they were nominated for the Lucas Awards in 2005 for their video clip “Pitchea.” Eminencia Clasica is recognized for maintaining a creative edge in the Cuban urban music scene by mixing contemporary urban sounds with traditional elements, making them a standout act within their genre.
