Toys That Kill

Toys That Kill is an American punk rock band hailing from San Pedro, California, which formed in 1999 after the influential punk band F.Y.P (Five Year Plan) disbanded. The formation of Toys That Kill was spearheaded by Todd Congelliere, who was the lead singer and guitarist of F.Y.P, and he carried over his penchant for combining catchy melodies with raw, energetic punk aesthetics. With Sean Cole on guitar and vocals, Chachi Ferrara on bass, and Jimmy Felix on drums, the band quickly forged a distinctive sound that propelled them to the forefront of the DIY punk scene.

Toys That Kill has carved out a niche with their brand of punk that folds in elements of pop and lo-fi indie rock, giving rise to an infectious, gritty sound. Their early work, like the debut album "The Citizen Abortion" (2001), established a blueprint of vigorous anthems and social commentary. Through the years, the band has maintained a relentless pace with their artistry, dropping notable albums such as "Control the Sun" (2003), "Shanked!" (2006), and the critically-acclaimed "Fambly 42" (2012). The band continued their productive streak with their 2016 release "Sentimental Ward," where their unfiltered energy and melodious punk stylings are in full force. Alongside their studio albums, Toys That Kill has also contributed to split releases, including the "Joyce Manor / Toys That Kill Split - EP" and other EPs like "Flys," showcasing an enduring and evolving presence in the punk rock landscape.
