Annlaug Børsheim is a talented Norwegian fiddler, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Ulvik in the scenic Hardanger region, known as the heartland of the Hardanger fiddle tradition. She grew up immersed in this rich folk music heritage, starting to play the Hardanger fiddle at the age of seven and later studying folk music at institutions like Telemark University College and the Ole Bull Academy. Over the years, she has developed a unique sound that blends traditional Norwegian folk with elements of pop, rock, and Celtic influences, delivering music filled with emotional storytelling and rich melodies.
Currently based in Bergen, Børsheim is celebrated for her ethereal vocals, delicate guitar fingerpicking, and her mastery of traditional instruments like the Hardanger fiddle and the nyckelharpa. Her debut solo album *November*, recorded with prominent Scottish musicians and produced in Scotland, reflects her fascination with the music of the British Isles, showcasing a creative exchange across Nordic and Celtic folk traditions. In recent years, she released *Spring før sola står opp*, an album featuring her own compositions alongside traditional songs, highlighting her as a gifted songwriter and collaborator.
