Piotr Salajczyk

Piotr Salajczyk is a renowned Polish pianist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. Born on January 7, 1982, in Warsaw, he has established himself as a versatile artist with a deep interest in both contemporary and lesser-known Polish music. Salajczyk is a winner of the prestigious Fryderyk phonographic award and the Orpheus award for his outstanding performances of Polish music. He has collaborated with numerous ensembles, including the Apollon Musagete Quartet, Royal String Quartet, and the Silesian Quartet. His extensive discography includes recordings for labels such as DUX, CD Accord, Naxos, and Haenssler, featuring works by composers like Juliusz Zarębski and Mieczysław Weinberg. Salajczyk teaches piano at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and has performed at various international festivals.

Salajczyk's recent projects include recording the complete piano works of Juliusz Zarębski and Władysław Zeleński's piano compositions. He is also the co-founder of the Wajnberg Trio and has a strong interest in the works of Karol Szymanowski, serving as the president of the K. Szymanowski Music Society in Zakopane. His performances span a wide range of venues, from the National Philharmonic to international festivals like the Warsaw Autumn and the Beijing Modern Music Festival.
