Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra

The Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1956 under conductor Arnold Katz, is one of Siberia’s most celebrated classical ensembles. Based in Russia’s third-largest city, the orchestra has built a reputation for championing Russian composers like Sergei Taneyev (whose symphonies feature prominently in their recent recordings) while also mastering European classics from Beethoven to Stravinsky. Known for its rich, dynamic sound, the group has toured globally and collaborated with soloists like David Oistrakh and Mstislav Rostropovich.
