Preston James is a country music artist from Cheatham County, Tennessee, who’s been making waves with his authentic Southern charm and soulful voice. Born into a musical family—his mom was a publicist and his dad a tour manager for country stars—Preston was surrounded by music from the start. He got his first guitar at age six, started writing songs by seven, and was playing gigs in Nashville by the time he was 14. Skipping college to focus on music, he built a reputation as a talented singer-songwriter with a sound that blends country, blues, and classic rock.

Preston gained wider attention as a contestant on Season 11 of *The Voice* in 2016, where his performance of Chris Stapleton’s “Nobody to Blame” earned him a spot on Blake Shelton’s team. Though his time on the show was brief, it helped boost his profile and led to performances at iconic venues like the Ryman Auditorium. He’s since toured with his band, played alongside legends like Vince Gill and Delbert McClinton, and signed as a songwriter with Warner Chappell Music and King Pen Music.
