Mike Osborne

Mike Osborne was a British alto saxophonist and clarinetist who was a significant figure in the UK free jazz scene. Emerging in the late 1960s, Osborne quickly gained recognition for his fiery improvisations and distinctive sound. He played with a wide range of musicians, including Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath, John Surman, and Mike Westbrook, leaving his mark on numerous important recordings.

Osborne's playing was characterized by its intensity and emotional depth, often pushing the boundaries of conventional jazz harmony and structure.
