Ophiuchi

Ophiuchi is a band from Pretoria, South Africa, currently based in the Utrecht area of the Netherlands. The band consists of a single member, who skillfully combines elements of doom, sludge, black metal, and folk music into a unique sound. Influenced by bands like Portal, Blut Aus Nord, Tool, King Crimson, and Yob, Ophiuchi's music is characterized by a blend of heavy and folk elements. Their debut album, *Bifurcaria Bifurcata*, was released in 2017, followed by work on a subsequent album titled *Shibboleth*, which draws inspiration from Greek mythology and Gnostic themes. Recent releases include *Shibboleth* and *Mercurial*, showcasing the band's evolving musical style.
