The Fuzztones
The Fuzztones are a cult-favorite garage rock revival band that burst out of New York City in the early 1980s. Led by frontman Rudi Protrudi, the band became key players in the second wave of garage rock, drawing heavy inspiration from 1960s proto-punk and psychedelic acts like The Seeds, The Standells, and The Electric Prunes. Known for their fuzz-drenched guitars, Farfisa organ riffs, and energetic live shows, The Fuzztones helped bring vintage garage sounds back into the spotlight, influencing a generation of underground rock bands.
Their debut album, 1984’s Lysergic Emanations, is widely regarded as a cornerstone of the genre's revival and features blistering covers alongside raw originals that capture their gritty aesthetic. Over the decades, The Fuzztones have continued to tour and release music, maintaining a loyal international fanbase and releasing an impressive catalog that celebrates both their roots and their enduring sonic identity.
