Adrenalin O.D.

Adrenalin O.D. was a New Jersey-based hardcore punk band that brought humor and irreverence to the 1980s punk scene. Formed in Ridgefield Park in 1981, the group—featuring members like vocalist/guitarist Dave Scott Schwartzman—stood out with their goofy, satirical lyrics and breakneck tempos, offering a lighthearted counterpoint to the era’s often-serious hardcore ethos. Known for albums like *The Wacky Hi-Jinks of Adrenalin O.D.* and *Humungusfungusamoungus*, they blended frenetic riffs with tongue-in-cheek themes, earning cult status for tracks about everything from fast food to sci-fi absurdities.

After disbanding in 1989, their music lived on through reissues like the *Millennium Edition* series, which reintroduced classics such as *Cruising with Elvis in Bigfoots’ U.F.O.* and *Let’s BBQ* to new fans. Their raucous *Live at CBGB* recordings also immortalized their chaotic, fun-loving stage presence. Though they never achieved mainstream fame, Adrenalin O.D.’s quirky charm and DIY spirit left a lasting imprint on punk’s underground legacy.
