Butterfly Black

Butterfly Black is an exciting new R&B duo made up of Grammy-winning bassist and composer Ben Williams and talented Broadway star Syndee Winters. Their music is a fresh take on classic male-female soul duos like Tammi Terrell & Marvin Gaye and Ike & Tina Turner, blending bubbly, boogie-centric, and upscale R&B with infectious energy perfect for today’s post-pandemic vibe. Ben brings a rich jazz background having won the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and collaborating with legends such as Pat Metheny and Robert Glasper, while Syndee’s dynamic past includes standout roles in Broadway hits like *Hamilton* and *The Lion King*, plus early work as a dancer for the New York Knicks and as a hip-hop and soul singer working alongside Grandmaster Flash.

Together, they’ve crafted a unique sound bursting with chemistry both in the studio and onstage, showcased on singles like “I Just Wanna Love You” and “Love You Can’t Fight It.” Butterfly Black is currently working on their debut five-song EP, set to continue their soulful journey and spotlight their seamless blend of musical backgrounds and styles.
