Beoga

Beoga, a vibrant Irish folk band, has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of traditional Irish music fused with contemporary influences since their formation in 2002. The quintet, hailing from County Antrim and County Londonderry, emerged on the music scene with a fire for reinventing folk music. Beoga, which means 'lively' in Irish Gaelic, encapsulates their energy and spirit, and over the years, the band has gained a reputation for their inventive arrangements and a playful approach to traditional melodies and rhythms.

The band’s lineup includes bodhrán player and percussionist Eamon Murray, pianist Liam Bradley, Sean Óg Graham on accordion and guitar, Damian McKee on accordion, and Niamh Dunne, who handles fiddle and vocals, adding a soulful edge to their sound. Their discography, which includes albums such as "Mischief" (2007), "The Incident" (2009), "How to Tune a Fish" (2011), "Live at 10" (2013), "Before We Change Our Mind" (2016) and more recently, a series of singles released from 2019 through 2020, demonstrates their evolution and their willingness to experiment with genres beyond folk. Notably, Beoga collaborated with Ed Sheeran on his 2017 album, "÷," which brought them international acclaim and introduced their musicianship to a wider audience. Through records like "Carousel" (2020) and tracks like "Make a Mark" and "In a Rocket," Beoga continues to push the boundaries of Celtic music, and their dynamic performances showcase the band's virtuosity and joyous approach to the traditional sound.
