Buzzov•en emerged from the cauldron of the early '90s heavy music scene, distinguished for their sludgy blend of metal, punk, and hardcore. Originating from North Carolina, the band was founded in 1989 by lead vocalist and guitarist Kirk Fisher, also known by his stage name "Reverend Dirtkicker."
