Buzzov•en

Buzzov•en emerged from the cauldron of the early '90s heavy music scene, distinguished for their sludgy blend of metal, punk, and hardcore. Originating from North Carolina, the band was founded in 1989 by lead vocalist and guitarist Kirk Fisher, also known by his stage name "Reverend Dirtkicker." They were characterized by their raw, abrasive sound and notorious for their intense, confrontational live performances which often mirrored the chaos of their personal lives.

Throughout the 1990s, Buzzov•en's reputation for crafting suffocatingly heavy music grew, thanks in part to albums like "To a Frown" and the seminal "Sore", which is often cited as a touchstone in the sludge metal genre. The band's lineup fluctuated over the years with Fisher as the sole constant member, navigating through substance abuse issues and internal conflicts. Despite their tumultuous journey, Buzzov•en has left an indelible mark on the scene, influencing countless bands with their visceral sound and unapologetic attitude. After going through several hiatuses, they've continued to sporadically release new material such as "Violence from the Vault" and perform reunion shows, solidifying their status as cult legends within the metal community.
