The brainchild of singer-songwriter Joe Knapp, Son, Ambulance first gained wider recognition with the split EP "Oh Holy Fools – The Music of Son, Ambulance and Bright Eyes" in 2001, an endeavor that showcased Knapp's collaboration with Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and brought Son, Ambulance's introspective and melodic indie pop to a broader audience.
