Son, Ambulance

Son, Ambulance is an American indie rock band hailing from Omaha, Nebraska that emerged from the vibrant early-2000s indie scene, where it was associated with the celebrated Saddle Creek Records label. The brainchild of singer-songwriter Joe Knapp, Son, Ambulance first gained wider recognition with the split EP "Oh Holy Fools – The Music of Son, Ambulance and Bright Eyes" in 2001, an endeavor that showcased Knapp's collaboration with Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and brought Son, Ambulance's introspective and melodic indie pop to a broader audience.

The band’s full-length debut, "Euphemystic," arrived in 2001 and was well-received by fans of the indie genre for its carefully crafted songwriting and heartfelt delivery. Their subsequent release, "Key," continued to explore the realms of meditative piano work and thoughtful lyricism that had become the band's hallmark. It wasn't until 2008 that their much-anticipated album "Someone Else's Déjà Vu" was delivered, presenting a more matured sound that intertwined elements of baroque pop and experimental flourishes. Throughout their journey, Son, Ambulance has remained a staple in the indie music tapestry, prized for their ability to weave intricate narratives with a sense of tender musicianship.
