Bell Hollow

Bell Hollow was a New York City-based indie/post-punk band active in the mid-2000s, known for their moody, atmospheric blend of darkwave and jangly guitar-driven sound. Formed by vocalist/guitarist Nick Niles and bassist Miranda Brown, the group drew inspiration from '80s icons like The Chameleons and The Cure while adding modern shoegaze textures. Their 2007 debut EP *Foxgloves* and 2008 full-length *Sons of the Burgess Shale* showcased their brooding yet melodic style, earning nods from indie tastemakers. The band’s name and lyrical themes often nodded to scientific references (like the Burgess Shale fossil bed), adding intellectual flair to their emotive rock. Though short-lived, Bell Hollow left a cult following before disbanding around 2010, with members later pursuing other projects in NYC’s music scene.
