Laster

Laster is an atmospheric black metal band hailing from Utrecht, the Netherlands, known for blending elements of shoegaze and post-metal into their music to create a distinctive, immersive sound. Since their formation in 2012, the trio, consisting of Wessel Reijman (vocals, guitar, bass), N. (vocals, guitar, bass), and S. (drums), has been recognized for their unique blend of ethereal melodies and harsh, emotionally-charged black metal. Shifting between introspective tranquility and explosive intensity, Laster's lyrical themes delve into philosophy, human emotion, and the complexities of the mind.

Their full-length debut album, "De verste verte is hier," originally arrived in 2014 and was later remastered, showcasing the band's early promise and establishing their place in the underground metal community. Following up with "Ons vrije fatum" in 2017, they continued to refine their sound, which combines raw riffs, atmospheric passages, and avant-garde influences. Laster's most recent album, "Het Wassen Oog," released in 2019, represents a maturation of their artistry, featuring tracks like "Andermans Mijne" and "Afgelopen Tijd" that exhibit the band’s evocative, otherworldly vibe. This release cements Laster's reputation as a band unafraid to push the boundaries of the genre while remaining true to its core principles.
