Rebecca Schiffman is a New York City-born singer-songwriter, jewelry designer, and visual artist now based in Los Angeles. She began studying cello and piano early, later picking up guitar and writing songs that blend frank, beautiful, and slightly off-kilter themes. Schiffman launched her music career with the 2003 album *Upside Down Lacrimosa*, produced by Walter Schreifels, and released her acclaimed second album *To Be Good for a Day* in 2009, which was named "Best Album of the Month" by Vice Magazine. Her music has been featured in films like Lena Dunham’s *Tiny Furniture*, with Schiffman also lending vocals to other indie soundtracks.
In 2016, reunited with producer Money Mark, known for collaborations with the Beastie Boys and others, Schiffman released her self-titled third album, which incorporated new sounds and personal stories, especially reflecting her move from New York to Los Angeles. Aside from music, she's recognized for her jewelry worn by artists such as Grimes and her critically praised painting. Known for crafting warm, intimate songs with a witty edge, Schiffman’s recent releases include singles like “Bubble of Love” and “Little Mr. Civility,” showcasing her ongoing creative evolution.
