Watching for Foxes

**Watching for Foxes** is a Michigan-based indie folk band formed in late 2013 by a group of friends from Fremont. The band later relocated to Grand Rapids, where they developed their unique sound, which they describe as "flannel rock" – a blend of folk and indie rock influences. Their music is characterized by lush, emotive soundscapes and storytelling lyrics, drawing inspiration from artists like The National, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver.

The band's lineup has evolved over time, but key members have included Joey Frend (vocals), Jared Meeuwenberg (guitar), Geoffrey Kartes (cello/vocals), and Ricky Olmos (keys/aux). They have released several notable works, including the EPs "The Watchmen" and "Until the Winter Comes," and their debut album "Undone Bird," which features a mix of melancholic and inspirational themes. The band has toured extensively and has been part of West Michigan's vibrant music scene before some members moved on to other projects.
