Valkea
Valkea is a modern folk metal band from Espoo, Finland, formed in 2014. The group is known for blending traditional Finnish folk instruments, especially the kantele, with metal and rock elements to bring a fresh, contemporary take on folk music. The band started when Miikka invited his friend Eppu to create "modern kantele music for future generations." They released their self-titled debut album in 2017 and have continued to evolve their sound with a lineup including guitar, bass, and drums alongside the two kantele players. Valkea aims to make traditional Finnish music interesting again by pushing the boundaries within the metal genre.
