The Violent Hour

The Violent Hour is the new rock project led by Carla Harvey, the former vocalist of Butcher Babies. After 15 years with Butcher Babies, Carla launched this fresh solo endeavor to explore a broader musical range, blending old-school rock, heavy metal, and indie styles. The project spotlights Carla’s vocals paired with music composed and played entirely by Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, with guest appearances from acclaimed guitarists like John 5 and Zakk Wylde. Their debut EP, released via Megaforce Records in 2025, features tracks such as “Sick Ones,” “Hell or Hollywood,” and the self-titled “The Violent Hour,” each showcasing a mix of aggressive riffs and emotionally expressive lyrics inspired by Carla’s personal experiences.

Carla Harvey’s background as a multi-talented artist also enriches The Violent Hour. Known not only for her commanding vocal presence but also as a comic book author, visual artist, and licensed embalmer, Carla brings a unique combination of creativity and depth to her music. The Violent Hour captures a new chapter for her—one of artistic freedom and experimentation—with songs that confront toxic relationships and personal growth, backed by powerful collaborations and expertly crafted production by Charlie Benante.
