Vacuous

Vacuous is a cavernous death metal band from England, formed in early 2020. The band initially started as a three-piece with vocalist Jo Chen also handling drums, alongside guitarist Michael Brodsky and bassist Dame. Over time, they expanded to a five-piece, adding guitarist Ezra H and drummer Max Southall. Vacuous is known for their dense, old-school death metal sound, which incorporates elements of doom, d-beat, and grindcore. Their music is influenced by bands like Autopsy, Disembowelment, and newer acts such as Cerebral Rot and Of Feather and Bone. Their notable releases include the EP "Katabasis" and the album "Dreams of Dysphoria." The band has performed live shows in the UK, including gigs in London and a tour in the North East of England.

Vacuous's formation was a result of members from neighboring bands coming together to create a new project. Their early work, such as the demo and "Katabasis," was developed during the pandemic, which presented unique challenges but also allowed them to refine their sound. The band members are involved in various other musical projects, showcasing their diverse musical backgrounds and interests. Despite their relatively recent inception, Vacuous has quickly established itself within the UK death metal scene, with plans for future tours and releases.
