Yuvan Shankar Raja, a dynamic and prolific figure in the Indian music industry, has firmly established himself as one of the leading film composers and singers of his time. Born on August 31, 1979, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Yuvan is the younger son of the legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, and the brother of noted composer Karthik Raja and playback singer Bhavatharini. With a musical lineage so rich, Yuvan Shankar Raja naturally inherited a deep understanding and passion for music, which has led him to compose film scores and soundtracks for the Tamil film industry, as well as Telugu and Hindi cinema.

Yuvan made his film scoring debut at the tender age of 16, with the soundtrack for the Tamil film "Aravindhan" (1997).
