Leif & Kompisane

Leif & Kompisane, a rock band from Stavanger, Norway, was formed in 1984 by frontman Leif Nilsen, who previously drummed for the influential Norwegian band Mods. Starting as a trio, they quickly expanded after their 1985 breakthrough single *Eg har ikkje båd*, eventually evolving into a six-piece group that released their debut album *Kom te fantasien* before briefly disbanding in 1986. After reviving the band in 1993 with new members, they produced fan favorites like *Full kontroll* (1997) featuring hits such as *Syver* and *Morgen herlige*, blending rock with catchy pop sensibilities. Their later albums like *Cabriolet* (2003) and *Litt av kvert* (2005) showcased collaborations with notable Norwegian songwriters, while recent releases like *Dronningen* (2022) demonstrate their enduring presence in Norway’s music scene. Known for rotating lineups, the band has maintained cultural relevance through sports anthems and Viking FK football collaborations, though Nilsen remained the constant driving force until at least 2023.
