The Woodentops
The Woodentops are an English indie pop band formed in 1982 in Preston, Lancashire. The band's original lineup consisted of Rolo McGinty (vocals, guitar), Simon Mawson (guitar), Peter Hooton (bass), and Phil Murphy (drums). The Woodentops released their debut album, "Giant", in 1985, which was a critical and commercial success. The band's follow-up album, "Wooden Foot Cops on the Highway", was released in 1987 and was also well-received. The Woodentops disbanded in 1990, but they reunited in 2004 and have continued to release music and tour sporadically since then.
