Seether, a post-grunge and alternative metal band hailing from South Africa, was formed in 1999 in Pretoria. Initially starting out under the name Saron Gas, they changed to Seether when signing with Wind-up Records in 2002 to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical sarin gas.
