Hermanos Santa Cruz
Hermanos Santa Cruz is a group of Afro-Peruvian musicians who formed in the late 1980s. The band consists of Rafo and Octavio Castillo, who are the nephews of the prominent Afro-Peruvian figures Nicomedes Santa Cruz and Victoria Santa Cruz. Their mission is to preserve and promote the rich but historically marginalized music of their community. The group's music often features a blend of Latin percussion and acoustic guitars, creating a lively and danceable sound without the typical brass and large band elements of popular salsa music.
