Melodrom

Melodrom is a Slovenian alternative Synthpop band formed in 1999. Originally conceived as Marquee, the group initially came together to create soundtracks for film and theater performances. Their music career as a band began taking shape in 2001, performing concerts and gaining popularity with hits like "Extemporary Ending" and "Duet." Melodrom's debut album, self-titled and released in 2004, was highly acclaimed and chosen as album of the year by several Slovenian media outlets. The band has also collaborated with notable artists such as DJ Umek and Laibach, with vocalist Mina Špiler contributing to Laibach's projects, including their remix of Rammstein's "Ohne Dich." Over the years, Melodrom has released several albums, including *The Guide* and *Vse kar si pustila da leži na tleh*.

The band's unique sound blends elements of electronic and experimental music with a strong visual arts influence, evident in their early work on short film soundtracks. However, Melodrom stopped performing together in 2013, with Mina Špiler continuing her career as a singer with Laibach. Despite disbanding, their legacy remains significant in the Slovenian music scene, showcasing their contribution to alternative and synthpop genres.
