The Green River Burial was a German metalcore band from Frankfurt, formed in 2008. Initially consisting of vocalist Mert, guitarist Mo, bassist Phil, and drummer Laurin, they later underwent lineup changes, with Gerald Ruschel joining as the vocalist in 2015. The band's name was inspired by the American serial killer Gary Ridgway, known as the "Green River Killer," though this connection became less prominent over time. Their music blended elements of hardcore punk and metalcore, drawing comparisons to groups like The Acacia Strain and The Ghost Inside. Notable releases include the self-produced EP "Means to an End" in 2010, their debut album "Separate & Coalesce" in 2012, and the EP "Blight" in 2015, all of which showcased their ability to integrate melodic elements and intense breakdowns into their sound.
Throughout their career, The Green River Burial toured extensively across Europe and shared stages with notable bands. They were signed to Bastardized Recordings and played significant festivals like the Mair1 Festival. Despite plans for further releases, the band announced their dissolution in November 2016, following the release of new material. Their final performance took place in Leipzig on November 18, 2016.
