Poole adopted the stage name Wednesday 13 from the combination of Wednesday from the Addams Family and the number 13, often associated with bad luck and horror themes. He began his music career in the late 1990s, reaching prominence with the band Murderdolls (featuring Slipknot's Joey Jordison) in the early 2000s. Following the band's hiatus, he launched a successful solo career.

Throughout his career, Wednesday 13 has built a dedicated fan base, mesmerized by his darkly theatrical performances, macabre lyrics, and a shock rock aesthetic reminiscent of Alice Cooper and the Misfits.
