Lowtide

Lowtide is a Melbourne-based dream-pop/shoegaze band that has etched its place within the indie music scene with its lush soundscapes and ethereal vibes. Emerging from the rich musical soil of Australia, the band consists of members Gabriel Lewis on guitar and vocals, Lucy Buckeridge on bass and vocals, Anton Jakovljevic on drums, and Giles Fielke contributing guitar and synth. Lowtide's self-titled debut album dropped in 2014, introducing listeners to their evocative blend of reverb-laden guitars and haunting harmonies. Their sound reflects a deep understanding and love for the shoegaze genre, breathing new life into its characteristic washes of sound with a distinctly oceanic twist.

Following their well-received debut, Lowtide expanded their sonic footprint with the release of "Southern Mind" in 2018, which showcases the band's maturation and tighter compositional focus. They have further explored the remix realm, employing talents like renowned electronic musician Ulrich Schnauss and local electronic veterans Black Cab, resulting in reimaginings of "Southern Mind" that emphasize the band's compatibility with electronic music aesthetics. Tracks like "Elizabeth Tower," "Alibi," and "Julia / Spring" further exhibit the band's ability to craft atmospheric textures that are at once nostalgic and fresh. Lowtide continues to enchant audiences both in Australia and internationally, solidifying their position in the ranks of contemporary shoegaze and dream pop aficionados.
