Boris Kucharsky is a distinguished violinist born in Dortmund, Germany, in 1971, with a rich heritage of Russian, Slovakian, German, and Jewish descent. He began playing the violin at age seven and was admitted to the prestigious Menuhin School near London in 1984, where he was mentored by Yehudi Menuhin himself—one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century. This mentorship laid the foundation for Kucharsky's reputation as a leading violinist of his generation. Over the years, he has studied with notable teachers including Igor Ozim and Erick Friedmann, developing a comprehensive repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary works.
Kucharsky has performed as a soloist with prominent orchestras such as the European Chamber Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic, and Suk Chamber Orchestra, and has appeared at renowned music festivals across Europe, the USA, and the Far East. His recordings include award-winning performances like Eugen Suchon’s Violin Concerto "Fantasia and Burleska." His artistry is characterized by virtuoso brilliance and deep emotional expression, often collaborating with contemporary composers who have dedicated pieces to him. He plays the exquisite "Baron Knoop" violin, crafted by Carlo Bergonzi in 1735.
