Doctor J

Doctor J is an alias used by Portuguese electronic music artist Rui da Silva, particularly known for his early work. Under this moniker, he released several tracks, including "Não", which sampled vocals from a Xutos & Pontapés song and was one of his first major hits. Another notable track is "The Sax Theme", created in collaboration with Alex Santos. Rui da Silva, operating as Doctor J, contributed significantly to Portugal's early house and electronic music scene, teaming up with DJ Vibe to form Kaos Records, a pioneering label in Portugal. Doctor J's work reflects the vibrant club culture emerging in Lisbon during the 1990s.
