The band was originally founded in 1982 in Salisbury, England, by Andy Boulton (lead guitar) and Ray Dismore (guitar), with Alan Marsh on vocals, Andy Robbins on bass, and Steve Pierce on drums. Tokyo Blade went through various lineup changes over the years but remained anchored by the lead guitar work and vision of Andy Boulton.

Despite facing challenges, including fluctuating popular trends and repeated upheavals in its lineup, Tokyo Blade continued to release music and maintain a loyal fan base.
