Lubomír Malý

Lubomír Malý is a renowned Czech violist born on March 6, 1938, in Prague. He studied at the Prague Conservatory and later at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he is also a professor. Malý has had a distinguished career as both a soloist and a chamber musician. He has been a member of the City of Prague Quartet since 1968 and has played a significant role in promoting contemporary Czech viola music. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Bohuslav Martinů Medal in 2018.
